Gout Gout Reflects on His Season After Missing Out On 200m Final6:42

After running a sensational 19.67 (+1.7) 200m at the Australian National Championships, it has been announced that Gout Gout will make his senior Diamond League Debut at the Oslo Diamond League meeting on June 10.

Gout will line-up against Letsile Tebogo, the 2024 Olympic Champion over 200m.

At the Australian National Championships on April 12, Gout Gout shocked the world as he ran a World U20 Record over 200m. He posted a 19.67, besting his previous personal best of 20.02 by .35. 

Naturally - that sort of performance came with online skepticism and some pundits claimed that the wind-reading or timing equipment may have been incorrectly operated. Nevertheless, the mark stands as the best in Australian history, and puts Gout Gout in the conversation with the world's best.

Tebogo sports a personal best of 19.46 (+0.4) over 200m. He ran a season best of 19.65 in 2025. He ultimately earned World Championship Gold in the 4x100m relay at the 2025 World Outdoor Championships.

The 2025 campaign saw Tebogo win two Diamond League meetings. He won the 200m at the Diamond League meetings in Doha and Eugene.

Notably, both Gout Gout and Letsile Tebogo are also confirmed for the 200m at the Pre Classic on July 4.

Gout Gout previously made his Diamond League debut in the U23 race at the Monaco Diamond League meeting in 2025, but the race in Oslo will be his first senior race in the Diamond League disciplines.
