The 2026 Diamond League season resumes Friday, Aug. 21, in Lausanne, Switzerland, as some of the biggest stars in track and field return to action.

Olympic champions Letsile Tebogo, Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Rai Benjamin and Winfred Yavi headline a loaded Lausanne Diamond League field that also includes Masai Russell, Shericka Jackson, Faith Cherotich, Grant Fisher, Parker Wolfe and Swiss star Audrey Werro.
The meet features the men's and women's 200m and 800m, men's 5,000m, women's 3,000m steeplechase and several high-profile field events, with athletes also chasing qualification for the Diamond League Final in Brussels.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen returns to the 1500m at Diamond League Silesia
Lausanne is only the beginning of a major Diamond League weekend. On August 23, the focus shifts to Silesia, where Jakob Ingebrigtsen will make his first 1500m appearance since returning from an Achilles injury that kept him out of competition for nearly 11 months.
Cole Hocker will be waiting. Ingebrigtsen has finished ahead of Hocker in 10 of their 12 matchups, but Hocker delivered his first victory over Ingebrigtsen in the 2024 Paris Olympic 1500m final.

Duplantis sets the tone in Lausanne
Mondo Duplantis won the Lausanne Diamond League City Pole Vault with a meeting-record clearance of 6.21m. Duplantis was perfect through 6.21m before making unsuccessful attempts at the world record.
