Ethan Strand secured a strong third-place finish in a loaded men's 1500m final at the Brussels Diamond League, clocking a season's best time of 3:30.50. Reflecting on his recent performances, Strand noted that bouncing back from a massive win in Silesia to race in Zurich just four days later was a difficult experience that tested his ability to refocus. He emphasized that learning to compete at max effort against the world's best with no breaks is a crucial skill he is continually refining at this level of his career. While he closed fantastically to secure third today, Strand highlighted early positioning at the 300-meter mark as his main tactical area for improvement. He explained that the razor-thin margins of a 3:30 world-class race require much sharper placement compared to the slower tactical fields he faced in the NCAA.
