Boys’ 4x400m Championship of America
The boys' final took place on Friday and featured a stacked field. Leading the charge were Quincy Wilson and the Bullis School from Potomac, Maryland, alongside powerhouse Jamaican schools like Excelsior, Calabar (the Penn Relays record holders), and defending champions Kingston College.
From the moment the gun went off, the stadium was electric. Excelsior took an early lead, closely followed by Kingston College and Calabar, with Bullis not far behind. On the anchor leg, Kingston College pulled ahead, fending off a strong challenge from Calabar. But all eyes turned to Bullis’ anchor, Quincy Wilson. Receiving the baton in fifth place, Wilson surged forward with an astonishing split of 43.99 seconds, helping Bullis secure second place and set a new U.S. national high school record. Despite the charge, Kingston College held on for the win, claiming their fourth consecutive Championship of America title.
Girls’ 4x400m Championship of America
The girls’ final took place on the event's final day—a tough challenge, as both the prelims and finals are held on the same day. As is often the case at Franklin Field, the weather added to the drama, with intermittent rain throughout the day.
Unfazed, the defending champions led from start to finish, anchored by a 52.28 split from Jody-Ann Daley. Their effort not only secured a fourth straight title but also set new Penn Relays and Franklin Field records.
Bullis once again made a statement. Future Florida Gator Sydney Sutton, much like her teammate Quincy Wilson, anchored a strong comeback leg, lifting Bullis from fourth to second with a gutsy finish.
