The announcement, comes just days after an explosive showdown between Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek in the men's 200m at the US Track and Field Championships. Noah Lyles took the win in 19.63, but upon taking the lead late turned and issued a fiery stare in Bednarek's direction.
In the moments following, Bednarek shoved Lyles and the exchange continued with a heated conversation.

Bednarek ran 19.67 in that 200m loss - but that was his fifth race of the weekend. On Friday evening Bednarek won the 100m title (his first-ever US Title) in a personal best 9.79 (+1.8).
Lyles opted to scratch the 100m semi-final and final, as he already has a bye to the World Championship after winning the event in 2023. Lyles also won the Olympic 100m Gold medal in Paris last summer, with a personal best effort of 9.79.
Those two will have their hands full, as Jamaicans Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville are also entered in this star-studded field.
Earlier this year, Thompson ran a world leading 9.75 (+0.8) in Kingston. He was the Olympic Silver Medalist in Paris last summer.
Oblique Seville recently handed Lyles a loss in London. At the London Diamond League meeting, Seville posted a 9.86 into a -0.6 headwind. Lyles ran 10.00 on that occasion.
American Courtney Lindsey will also race, following his second place finish at the 2025 USATF Championship. He finished second to Bednarek with his 9.82 effort.
This filed will certainly bring fireworks to Switzerland - in what could be a preview of the World Championship final in September. The 100m in Laussane will be a Diamond League Plus discipline, offering a higher prize pool.
