Jakob Ingebrigtsen CRAZY WORLD RECORD In Men's 3,000m At Silesia Diamond League1:15

The Diamond League returns to Silesia Aug. 22-23, bringing two days of world-class track and field action to Poland.

With stars returning to competition, loaded fields across the track and elite talent ready to battle in the field, Silesia is shaping up to be a weekend to remember.

From exciting matchups to potential breakout performances, fans can expect plenty of action as some of the sport’s biggest names take center stage.

Here are five athletes you won’t want to miss at the 2026 Diamond League Silesia live on FloTrack from Aug. 22-23.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is back, and Silesia is the stage for his next big test. After undergoing Achilles surgery earlier this year, the Norwegian superstar is returning to Diamond League action this weekend.

Ingebrigtsen already gave fans a glimpse of his form by winning the European 5000m title in his first race back. Now, he is dropping down to the 1500m, an event where his speed and finishing kick have made him one of the sport’s biggest stars.

His return to the metric mile should give fans plenty to watch for. With his first 1500m since the 2025 World Championships, Silesia will be the perfect place to see whether Ingebrigtsen can pick up right where he left off.

Ja'Kobe Tharp

Ja’Kobe Tharp has gone from rising star to world-record holder in a matter of months, and now he is bringing that momentum to Silesia. The American hurdler will line up in the men’s 110m hurdles this weekend after rewriting the record books with a jaw-dropping 12.75 at the NCAA Championships earlier this summer.

But Tharp’s world record was no fluke. He followed it up with a 12.85 victory in Budapest before returning to Diamond League action in London, where he won in 12.89 to set a new meeting record.

Now, Tharp heads to Silesia with the fastest time in history attached to his name. After three straight races under 13 seconds, fans will want to see if the 20-year-old can keep his incredible run going.

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden is heading back to Silesia, where she delivered one of the biggest performances of her 2025 season. The reigning world champion returns to defend her 100m title after blazing to a 10.66 victory last year, matching the meeting record.

This time, she will have plenty of familiar competition waiting in the blocks. Jefferson-Wooden will once again face Olympic champion Julien Alfred, along with Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson-Herah in one of the most loaded 100m fields of the season.

Jefferson-Wooden has already won the 100m three times in the Diamond League this season and owns a 10.78 season best. Can she make another statement in Silesia and leave Poland with another victory?

Yaroslava Mahuchikh

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is bringing some serious high jump history to Silesia. The Ukrainian star is the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder, having cleared 2.10m in 2024 to break a record that had stood for 37 years.

But she will have some serious competition waiting in the high jump. Mahuchikh will face Australia’s Nicola Olyslagers, who beat her for both the 2025 Diamond League and world titles. Mahuchikh got the upper hand at the 2026 World Indoor Championships, while Olyslagers won their latest Diamond League battle in London.

With two of the best high jumpers in the world ready to battle again, Silesia could be another chapter in one of track and field’s most exciting rivalries. Who will rise to the occasion when the bar starts going higher?

Marileidy Paulino

Marileidy Paulino is bringing serious 400m firepower to Silesia. The Dominican Republic star owns a 47.98 personal best, making her the fastest athlete in a loaded field.

Paulino also enters with plenty of momentum after running 48.48 in Paris this season. She will face Salwa Eid Naser, Natalia Bukowiecka and Henriette Jæger in a stacked 400m field.

With an Olympic title, two world titles and three Diamond League Final victories on her résumé, Paulino knows how to deliver. Can she add another Silesia victory to her collection?
