The Prefontaine Classic, or Diamond League Eugene, will take place on Saturday, July 5 from Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. It’s the 50th year of the legendary event, and some of the biggest stars in the world will be competing.

On the women’s side, it’s a star-studded lineup for the 100M dash, with Sha’Carri Richardson, Julien Alfred, Tia and Tina Clayton all set to compete. Reigning Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall is headlining the long jump and Mya Lesnar, who is just weeks removed from an NCAA Championship at the same venue is competing in the shot put.

The women’s 800M will honor Maria Mutola, and this is the first year that the race will be named the Mutola 800m. Mutola won 16 races at the Prefontaine Classic during her career, and 12 of those wins came in the 800M. She holds the lead for most wins at the Prefontaine Classic of all time, with 16.

Just one week after attempting to break 4:00 in the mile, Faith Kipyegon is competing in the women’s 1500M.

For the men, the field is just as stacked, with Letslie Tebogo headlining the 200M. In the annual Bowerman Mile, the race exclusive to the Prefontaine Classic that honors the late coach Bill Bowerman, the field is loaded with stars. The field has Americans Cole Hocker, Hobbs Kessler and Grant Fisher along with Kenyans Timothy and Reynold Cheruiyot, making for an exciting mile race. In the 400M Hurdles, Nathaniel Ezekiel is competing on the same stage where he won the NCAA Championship just weeks ago.

Though not a Diamond League event, the women’s 400M is also loaded with speed, headlined by Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
