Grand finales deserve fireworks — and that’s what we’re in for as the Wanda Diamond League season concludes in Brussels this weekend.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen (3:26.73 PB) received a wildcard call-up for the 2026 Brussels Diamond League Final men's 1500m. The two-time Olympic champion did not automatically qualify for the event, but his lengthy list of accolades slots him into a 12-man field brimming with talent for just his third appearance in the Diamond League this season. Holding the fourth-fastest 1500m time in history at 3:26.73, Ingebrigtsen is still chasing his prior highs — and his first Diamond League trophy — since his February Achilles surgery. 

The Norwegian faces off against current world number one Cameron Myers (3:28.00 PB, two-time Diamond League Meeting winner.) Myers got top honors at the Prefontaine Classic with a sensational 3:31.62 mark to win the mile, before most recently securing a 1500m win on Aug. 30 in the ISTAF Berlin Meeting.

Cole Hocker And The Americans In Brussels

While international names dot the roster, including U20 world record holder Phanuel Kipkosgei Koech (3:31.84 PB) hot off the heels of a runner-up finish in Zürich, a star-spangled wave is shaping up to wash over the Brussels track. Paris Olympic Champion Cole Hocker (3:27.65 PB) won in Zürich after his return from injury. Hocker and Myers are well-acquainted after going head-to-head in Eugene, with the 20-year-old Aussie besting Hocker's disappointing 3:47.57.

Hocker is joined by five other Americans, with Hobbs Kessler (3:29.45 PB), Vincent Ciattei (3:30.90 PB), Ethan Strand (3:30.25 PB), Yared Nuguse (3:27.80 PB) and Christian Jackson (3:41.53 PB), who will be pacing, running alongside their compatriot. Nuguse finished third in Zürich with a 3:31.85 and currently sits atop the Diamond League standings with 43 points as he prepares for his sixth entry of the Diamond League season.

With the Wanda Diamond League designed to find the best of the best, one of the deepest fields of stars at the tournament is set to twinkle under the King Baudouin Stadium lights one final time to see who shines brightest.
